Refueling the fire
by Dr.Donold Morton

“Meanwhile, the fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must never go out. Each morning the priest will add fresh wood to the fire and arrange the burnt offering on it. He will then burn the fat of the peace offerings on it”. Leviticus 6:12 New Living If attention is paid, strong belief that the Lord is returning the heart of His children back to HIM will appear in a vivid presence. In particular, He is retuning men to the place of relationship with Him and with each other. There is a fire that has been missing in the lives of most men of God. The zeal to do ministry and to have a personal relationship with our Father has been long absent in the lives of most men.

We have to get back to being the Priests that was in the mind of God from the very beginning. We can witness women at any given time fellowshipping with Him and working for Him while most men are at home playing with the toys of the world (i.e. cars, boats, diamonds etc). These things seem to hold the attention of any man on any given day. But the Creator of the universe and the person in whom we live, and move, and have our being is undergoing neglect.

Anytime the altar was mentioned in scripture, God was addressing fellowship and relationship with Him. Prayer and time spent with God are essentials to the life that God has called us to live. Burning sacrifices were instituted to have relationship with God. In Leviticus the Bible says that it is important to keep the fire burning through the priest placing fresh wood on the altar every morning.

Men, listen closely, Jesus is the High Priest and you are the priests of your homes, communities, and the entire nation. Don’t let the ladies read this! Then again maybe they should! “The strength of every nation is the male population!” If our communities are to thrive and if our nation is to get back on course, men must return to being the men that God intended. However, men are trying to be priests without doing the main thing that priests do…sacrifice.

Every morning MEN should be up adding wood to the smoldering fire that has been kindled. Through prayer, praise, and worship, Men are able to keep the fire burning in the hearts for God. Notice the Bible says that the wood that is to be placed on the fire is fresh every morning. The Lord is requesting and requiring a fresh time with Him every day.

“What we have seen and [ourselves] heard, we are also telling you, so that you too may realize and enjoy fellowship as partners and partakers with us. And [this] fellowship that we have [which is a distinguishing mark of Christians] is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah).” I John 1:3 AMP
