This week throughout the Internet, there has been a high volume of response and outrage concerning the Blog written by rapper, "Slim Thug" at VIBE Magazine. In his Blog, he basically stated that black women need to stand by their men and at this time white women were more willing to do so than black women have been. Of course, the out cries and the outrage came from all over. Numerous Blogs and media outlets asked, how he could say such a thing?

A few days ago, I had a conversation with a friend about his career plans. After speaking to him, I realized a few new things about myself. Though I am a new writer and many people are attempting to acquaint themselves with my personality, in my now more intelligent and enlightened years, I have become a little more familiar with myself and the woman I have slowly become.

Personally I do believe in Soul Mates but that belief does have contingency riders. In my humble opinion my Soul Mate has to not only be capable of the stimulation of my mind and loins but possess the hierarchy which is the nurturing of my SOUL. Nurture (meaning to Nourish), not just the person you feel you are madly in Love with.

Well one’s a cry baby, the other a veteran. Can you figure out what ‘corny- beef’ I’m referring to? Well this story is pretty weird because it’s about business. I don’t think there are any losers in this situation to be quite honest. They both still have jobs, and are doing something they love.

I want to spend a moment INFORMING you about the loneliness that comes with personal growth. Its not from a needy place, but instead a realization that as we Evolve, we often end up separating ourselves from dysfunctional friends and at times even relatives. I know I had to. They can become like a Cancer so to speak eating away at your very core. Its frightening and a bit unnerving to actually take those steps down a path less traveled.

As usual throughout the week, I look for different ways to get my motivation drive to skyrocket through the roof. In my line of work and in the position that I hold, not only do I have to motivate myself but those around as well. I am often called Little Oprah because of my undying passion to help others live in their full potential. This week has been quite mind boggling as I have searched for new ways to keep that ambitious fire burning beneath me.

On January 19th the voters of Massachusetts dealt a major blow to President Obama and ended the Democrats’ 60 vote majority in the Senate. The Senate seat that was once held by the late Ted Kennedy now belongs to a Republican, Scott Brown. His win is not only historic, but cataclysmic, and could possibly put the overhaul of healthcare in this country in jeopardy.

Recently, I came across an article that highlighted a program in the Dallas area called the Prostitution Diversion Initiative. Due to my heightened emotions regarding women’s issues, I was intrigued to read about the services that this program had to offer. As I continued to read, I noticed that I had begun to take a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde stance on the issue.

Republicans, and some black leadership are asking Harry Reid to step down as Senate Majority Leader after his comments about President Obama. Reid stated: “He was wowed by Obama’s oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama — a “light-skinned” African American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,” as he later put it privately.” Really!!!!!!??????

Growing up I never had to be concerned about health care. My mom’s job provided excellent coverage for us, and being a relatively healthy kid, we rarely had to use it saved for the occasional check-ups, visits to the dentists, and that time I caught the flu in high school. Like most health care plans in America, children are allowed to stay on their parents’ health care plans until they either graduate from college or reach the age of twenty-four.
